Who we are
PropertyChecks and the product names StayAudit, FloodCheck, RadonCheck, LicenceCheck are trading names of Jagat IT UK Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17474995. Registered office: 164 High Street, St. Albans, AL2 1QF. Email support@propertychecks.example. We are a private company. We are not a council, a government department, the Environment Agency, the UK Health Security Agency or any other public body, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or authorised by any of them.
What you are buying
A report (StayAudit (£19.99), FloodCheck (£12.99), RadonCheck (£12.99), LicenceCheck (£12.99)) is digital content, produced automatically from public records at the moment you pay, and delivered on screen and by email. It is information about what those records said on the date shown. It is not legal, planning, surveying, insurance or financial advice, and it does not replace a solicitor, a surveyor, a council search or the council's own answer.
Where the records come from
Every report names its sources with the date each was read. The same records can be read directly from the bodies that publish them, in most cases free of charge. Coverage varies. Where a record could not be checked the report says so and says what you can do instead. We do not guarantee that a public dataset is complete or correct at source.
Cancellation
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase made online. Because the report is digital content produced and delivered at once, we ask you to tick a box before paying. The words are: "I want my report produced and sent to me now, and I understand that once it has been produced I lose my right to cancel this purchase and get a refund." By ticking it you give your express consent to immediate delivery and you acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once production begins. If the report cannot be produced we refund in full.
If the report is wrong
Nothing in these terms removes your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If a report does not match its description, tell us and we will put it right or refund you.
Liability
We are not liable for a decision you take on the strength of a report about a property, a purchase, a letting, an insurance policy or a mortgage. Our total liability to you for a report is limited to the price you paid, except for anything the law does not allow us to limit, such as death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights.
Payment
Payments are taken by Stripe on its own secure page. We never see or hold your card details. The price shown on the button is the whole price. Your card statement shows the product name.
Use of a report
A report is for you and the people helping you with the address you searched, such as your solicitor, lender or insurer. Do not resell it or use our service to build a database. Automated or bulk use is not allowed without a written agreement.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may bring a claim in your home nation. Complaints go to the email address above first, and to Citizens Advice if we cannot settle them.
